Welcome.

Wherever you are in your therapeutic journey, I look forward to exploring what support might look like for you.

I work from a psychodynamic, relational perspective - I believe change happens through genuine connection. I bring deep listening, genuine curiosity about your experience, and a collaborative approach that helps you discover strengths you might not know you have.

In addition to my therapeutic training, I also have a background in the arts, and enjoy working with creative people who are facing the struggles and pressures of living life as an artist. I also have training and certification in treating trauma.

Our work together will be about exploring all the parts of you - the messy and the sublime - and making meaning of it all.

Jason Pugatch, LICSW, MFA is a practicing psychotherapist. He received his Masters in Social Work, with a certificate in Trauma Practice, from Simmons University, where he worked in the field with young adults and adolescents in outpatient and college settings.  He has practiced in community mental health for the past several years. He also holds an MFA and has a background in the arts as a writer and filmmaker.

*at this time, I am only taking new clients for telehealth. However, I maintain a waitlist for in-person sessions.

A bit more about my work.

I offer individual psychotherapy. While I incorporate many therapeutic interventions in my work, such as CBT and DBT, I tend not to work in manualized fashion and treat every client as an individual on their own path. I tend to believe that you know the kind of therapy you would like, whether that’s immediately apparent or not.

I have trained in college counseling settings and with young adults navigating challenges of identity and autonomy. I have also worked in community mental health, with adult clients who are managing the impact of trauma, navigating major life events, or simply making the brave choice to look more deeply and insightfully at themselves.

This work can take time, and so my clients tend to meet with me for longer-term interventions.

It’s important to me that psychotherapy be affordable to you. My standard session fee is $150, which is aligned to the market for therapists at my level of training and experience. At this time, I do not take insurance, but can provide a superbill for you to file a claim with your insurer.

I also maintain a sliding scale policy based on individual need, frequency of sessions, and other factors. I welcome this conversation if you think it would be helpful.
